These seem to work as advertised. I bought these to replace my Kidde KN-COSM-B Battery-Operated Combination Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Alarm with Talking Alarms. My old alarms were beeping... so I changed the batteries in them, but they kept on beeping. I did some research and learned that the smoke alarms that come with carbon monoxide detection will constantly beep after about 5 years because they need to be replaced due to the carbon monoxide sensor inside the unit needing to be replaced. So... This time I bought smoke alarms without the carbon monoxide detection feature.
